Brand New Huss & Dalton Custom T-0014 with a Thermo Cured (torrified) Sitka Spruce top and a stunning, highly figured Myrtlewood back and side set. Body is bound in artificial tortoise shell, the fingerboard in Ebony. The fingerboard itself is Ebony, as is the bridge and the bridge pins which are also dressed up with Mother Of Pearl dots.
We were knocked out at how great this guitar sounds - just as sweet sounding as the Myrtlewood is beautiful to look at! A powerful small bodied guitar. Another Huss & Dalton masterpiece to add to our growing inventory from this world class guitar builder based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, USA!
To our ears, this guitar produces a rich sound similar to rosewood, but certainly not 'muddy' like some rosewoods - it has a sweetness and clarity like maple but not as bright. Nice dry, 'vintage-y' tone. Excellent note separation up and down the fretboard.
The nut is a custom width for this model, a bit narrower at 1-11/16". String spacing at the saddle is 2-1/8". Body width at the lower bout is 14-1/4"; body depth is 4-1/8". 14 frets to the body, this is an easy-playing short scale guitar with a scale length of 24.9". Waverly 1129 Special Issue Vintage Oval tuners. Comes with a Virginia-built TKL hard shell, plush lined, tweed case, as pictured.
