Fender Custom Shop 69 Closet Classic Stratocaster with Tele Headstock in aged Olympic White finish...A'la Jimi Hendrix!
Serial No: R66661
This custom ordered guitar (authentication via Custom Shop email included) was ordered from the Fender custom shop by Guitarguitar.co.uk in 2012 as a nod to the 1969 Newport Pop Festival 'Stratotele' that Hendrix used (because his strat neck had apparently broken on tour) and is thus an extremely rare, one of a kind investment grade guitar.
The guitar is in mint condition with some lacquer checking to the body which along with its aged Olympic white finish, is part of the Closet Classic aesthetic.
This particular model comes with rare handwound Abigail Ybarra '69 custom shop pickups which sound incredible.
The neck is extremely comfortable to play and is the same profile as a '69 stratocaster apart from the obvious addition of a tele headstock.
This guitar plays effortlessly and unplugged has a fantastic acoustic resonance.
Its playability and tone really is beyond that of any Custom Shop strat i've had the experience of playing.
It is probably the only genuine Fender tribute to Jimi's Stratotele in existence. As bold a statement that may be, I've yet to see another!
Comes with original Custom Shop case and all custom shop documentation including certificate of authenticity, Jimi Hendrix custom shop guitar strap, guitar lead and the custom shop 'Shop Floor Traveler' detailing all the specs of this beautiful instrument.
The guitar will be shipped using either Parcelforce or UPS Express services.
