First year issue 1988 Orville by Gibson single cut Junior in a rich cherry finish. OBG were licensed and authorized by Gibson for sale in the Japanese market. While they were built by the Terada Gakki factory in Japan, all components were provided by Gibson USA including the original P90 pickup - not to be confused with the lower spec standard Orville brand which used MIJ components. This first year Juniors also had inlaid OBG headstock logos and afterward became the standard gold inked versions.
Great playing guitar with appropriate player wear for a 31 year old. Nice comfortable neck with good width and depth. Not quite a 59 profile but certainly not the later slim profile. The frets are in outstanding shape. Weighs 9lbs on my digital scale and ships with an extremely hard to find original black vinyl OBG gig bag. Domestic sale only please.
