Very rare Model 5051 Alvarez acoustic guitar. Made in 1982 to commemorate the Alvarez 60th anniversary. Made in Japan at the Yari plant. There were two versions of the model 5051, this is the version with the open sound holes which help improve sound projection and made it possible to get the string ends out if they fall inside the body. This guitar has exceptional action and a warm resonant sound. Alvarez only made about 200 of these and only a part of that 200 have the open sound holes - so this is an extremely rare guitar. I love showing it to people because without exception they say “I have never seen one of those” , and “what a unique guitar”. Best part is when they play it and that smile comes across there face because it sounds great. My mom was the original owner and I’ve had it in my possession since I was a teenager. Hate to part with it but mom has some bills to pay and I want to help her out. Comes with case shown - case is a little beat up but it has kept the guitar in great shape.
