Ludwig Mahogany Cortex 1976 3-ply set w/matched serial #s - 24x14, 16x16, 14x10

Super clean Maple / Poplar / Maple 3-ply vintage Ludwig drums from 1976 with the lovely and durable Mahogany Cortex wrap. All serial numbers in same production range, this is from a set not a collection of random drums that were acquired separately. These drums in these sizes were put together to do the Bonham-inspired thing and sound and feel amazing tuned up to those specs.

Included drums (with original hoops, mufflers):

24x14 bass

16x16 floor tom

14x10 rack tom

Included hardware (all original):

- double tom mount for bass drum

- floor tom legs (3)

- bass drum spurs (2)

The wrap is all tight and clean and any surface markings are shallow and barely perceptible. I have tried to photograph from all angles to illustrate. Let me know if you would like to see more. Reinforcement rings have no cracks and all internal shells and edges appear in very good condition. The bass drum hoops have some dings from the tuning rods and a spot where the pedal and protective adhesive rubber has been attached but are otherwise in nice condition for this age. No rust or pitting on any chrome that I can detect from inspection.

Brand new heads installed (approximates John Bonham specs):

- Remo coated Vintage Emperor batter (2), Remo coated Ambassador resonant (2)

- Emperor coated bass batter, Powerstroke 3 smooth white bass resonant

I'll include a Ludwig script logo sticker from this era in case you want to have it on the bass drum. I'll also throw in a new set of Aquarian bass drum heads that will give you a ported resonant side to make the soundman happy if you are in a live setting. The batter side companion is a clear single ply with a power dot in the center. Nice punchy combo if the open tuning isn't your thing.
