For sale we have an original vintage 1966 Ampeg B15NB
Portaflex flip top amplifier. This amp is out of the collection of a former
music store owner and is both functional and in very good aesthetic condition.
The B15NB line of amps need no introduction or fluff
descriptions. This is simply a legendary amplifier heard on millions of studio
recordings. It features dual 6l6 tubes pumping out 25 watts of glorious tone
through a 15” speaker. This model is from the time period when Ampeg retained the
tube rectifier and plexi-glass light up logo.
The condition is very good to near excellent considering the
age of this amplifier. The classic blue checker vinyl is in great shape with
the exception of a few tears on the corners. The grill cloth is fully intact
and has a smoky patina to it. The plexi-glass and logos are intact and shiny.
The amp was serviced in 1996 and included new power tunes, new rectifier tube,
one replaced cap and one replaced power supply resister. The originals will be
included with the amp. The amp was in storage for the majority of the time
since. The speaker cable has been extended to take pressure off of the 4 pin
connector in the cabinet and can be seen in the photos. This can easily be
redone or returned to factory condition.
Please look over the photos in detail and message us with
any questions. Local pickup is preferred
but we are willing to ship as long as the customer is aware of the risks
involved in shipping vintage electronics and is willing to pay the freight with
full insurance. Thank you!
