Victory "Slim Jim" Lowrider Gold Foil Pickup

The look and sound of foil pickups are back and more popular than ever! These pickups look great and work well on any custom project with amazing results. These a great choice to improve/change the tone from a guitar that you already have. New pickups can open up new creative and sonic possibilities. Heck, build your own version of the infamous "Coodercaster"! Customers are also commenting on how great they are on their metal resonator guitars.

Lowrider pickups are a flat ferrite magnet, surface mount singlecoil pickup. They can also be mounted underneath with modifications (please seean instrument repair shop if you do not feel proficient in this step.) There are no pole pieces so string spacing is not an issue.

Lowriders are less than 3/8' tall, making these easy to surface mount on many guitars. Please see the blueprint in the pics section for dimensions. Spacing is that of a standard Strat.No routing means only one very small hole for the pickup wire only. Pickups are underwound coming in around 5 ohms ( Don't let that reading fool you, the vintage tone is in there!). The Ohm reading has a minimal effect on the actual tone of a pickup so I say let your ears be the judge! Character was important when designing these pickups.Each pickup has a vintage, hand made appearance. These are wound like the vintage ones- same polarity, same wind direction. 

* If you plan to surface mount, the pickup, it is exactly .34" tall. Please allow a slight amount of height allowance for string movement.

Pickups are grounded to a steel base plate with shielded wire, giving a surprisingly quiet and unique single coil . There is a youtube clip below and also my first test run here:

Please message me after ordering you would like anodized colors instead of gold as seen in the last photo. I have Silver, blue, green and copper.

I also offer router templates and Tele and Strat pickguards on my Reverb page for that custom fit.
I now include surface mount screws with each order and will gladly tap threads and send you height adjustment screws for undermounting on your pickguard if you prefer - just message me after ordering.
