Here is quite a find.  This is a 1962 Rogers 5x14 wood Dynasonic in blue sparkle, all original down to the snare drum cords, tension rods, and washers.  It even had the original heads on when we brought it in, but they were no longer usable.  The snare frame, with the original wires, is unwarped and straight.  It is a first era frame, complete with the black end caps.  The "tall" hoops are in round and in excellent condition.  The throw off has the original tightening knob, and is a first era "clockface" throw.  The interior is the lacquered "fruitwood stain."  Tone control functions great.  There are a few inevitable hairline cracks in several of the lugs, but they are difficult to even find. Serial number is 1743, putting this snare in the first 1000 of the wood Dynasonics produced.  And of course, this drum sounds amazing.
