Overview

Designed not by Les Paul but by past Gibson president Ted McCarty and factory manager John Huis, the Gibson Les Paul Standard has become arguably one of the most historically significant and iconic electric guitars in existence. Since its introduction in the early '50s, the Les Paul Standard has undergone many changes -- and been held by its fair share of famous hands, like those of Jimmy Page, Slash, Pete Townshend, and Neil Young. Its iconic curves and single cutaway distinguishes the LP Standard, and has given rise to an impressive amount of imitators. Ever since the '70s, the design of the Standard has remained relatively static, and although different names, finishes and hardware options have come and gone, the desirability of the Gibson Les Paul Standard remains.

Also available with a '60s neck profile.
