The video down there is of this very guitar for sale. Oh my, this is a rare vintage Japanese guitar here…I actually found this one locally! SO crazy to walk into a small local music store and see this!! This model was one of the more bizarre designs to come out of late 60s Japan. To be fair, I believe these May Queen guitars were "inspired" by the Eko Auriga guitars. I wonder where the May Queen name came from? These were never very common guitars so it's always nice to see one for sale. Back in the day, these guitars were like myths, with people talking about them as if they didn't exist! Gotta love the pre-internet days!
OK, so this guitar has it's original finish and does have some dinks and doinks in the finish, but overall this is a nice survivor. Everything is original except the nut was replaced. This guitar comes with a vintage case, with the remnants of a Kimberly logo. In the late 60s, these guitars were apparently sold through Lafayette Radio Catalogs as Kimberly guitars. So they simply applied a foil Kimberly logo right over the Teisco logo on the pick guard! Crazy 60s! As always, we set this one up and went over all the electronics. The neck angle has been properly set and the guitar plays very well, but as with any vintage guitar, you'll probably need to get it set up to meet your tastes and playing style.
